The NMCN is Developing a Strategic Plan

July 12, 2024

The Northern Maternal Child Network (NMCN) is one of six regional networks that support providers in maternal, newborn and pediatric care. These networks area accountable to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and support the work of the Provincial Council of Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH).

Since2021, the NMCN has established three committees (Steering, Child and Youth, and Maternal-Newborn) and two Communities of Practice (Regional Perinatal and Regional Pediatric) that have guided the work of the network. Spanning across both the Northeast and Northwest regions, the NMCN’s activities include:

·        Perform gaps analysis using data

·        Launch improvement initiatives

·        Connect providers

·        Advocate for northern providers

·        Advise provincial bodies on northern healthcare
